Find out where the leak is coming from. The most obvious and visible places to see
leaks are at the hot and/or cold fill hoses, the drain hose, or from the
lid/door of the washer.
- If the leaks are coming from a fill hose,
make sure the hose is tightly secured to the washer on one end and to the
faucet on the other. Check to make sure
the hoses are clean and not clogged. If
leaks persist, there may be a problem with the hose that requires replacement.
- If the leaks are coming from the drain
hose, make sure the hose is tightly secured to the washer on one end and
properly installed to the drain on the other end. Check to make sure the hose is clean and not
clogged. If leaks persist, there may be
a problem with the hose that requires replacement.
- If it’s a front-load washer, check the
seal of the door to make sure it’s clean and has no tears.
Make sure the unit is level. Make sure the customer is not overloading the
machine or letting imbalanced loads run.
Make sure the right amount of detergent is being used (too much can
cause overflow/leaks).
If all of the above items are fine and not the cause
of the leaking, the problem is likely internal and the unit will need to go to
service.
